The company

Based in Idaho with plans to expand across the west, nextgenbreakaway is building the next generation of breakaway roping.

My role

in 2021, I joined NextGenBreakaway as their Design & Marketing Director while they were gearing up to produce their first event. For this start-up company, I've designed their website (first in wordpress, then webflow) , developed their brand identity and logo, and continue to design and develop marketing campaigns and assets (social media, email, direct mail) to further event promotion and membership expansion.

The goal

From the beginning the goal for the ngb design was fairly simple, to look to the future of the sport, while encompassing power and direction. this theme is apparent in the forward facing arrow in the logo, as well as the bold bright red that is the focal point of their color palette. the logo needed to work in small spaces (back numbers) as well as large banners, without feeling too heavy and overwhelming as a single shape.

the brand is finished out with metallic elements, bold focal designs as well as a futuristic font to help its audience look to what's coming next.


in addition to their website, i have helped nextgenbreakaway create swag, print materials, event signage, social images, video and email designs.
